About

Viktoriia Rozentsveih

Viktoriia Rozentsveih is a contemporary Ukrainian multidisciplinary artist. She lives and works between Kyiv and Berlin, Germany. In her artistic practice, she works with media such as graphics, installation, art objects, video, textile, and photography, actively experimenting with form and material. Her work emphasizes the interaction of light and space, with many of her projects exploring transparency, layering, and illumination.
Her practice is focused on themes of memory, home, loss, and the experience of being “in-between”—a state where presence and absence coexist simultaneously. Rozentsveih’s projects often explore the juxtaposition and interaction of opposites. In her works, she pays particular attention to transparency, layering, and the interplay of light and space. These strategies serve as a means of investigating liminal states, where the fragility, lightness, or temporality of materials becomes a metaphor for the instability and vulnerability of experience, while also allowing for interaction with space, expanding and complementing it. Through her experiments with light and semi-transparent surfaces, she creates works at the threshold of the visible and invisible, reflecting ruptures in memory where the personal intersects with the collective.
Rozentsveih actively engages with landscape and environment, which serve as carriers of space, time, and memory. She often draws on personal photo archives and the context of Kherson Oblast, her place of origin, which has been affected by ongoing conflict since 2022. In her practice, she frequently works with new materials and forms, bringing a high degree of experimentation to her work. Some projects develop gradually, acquiring new forms and meanings throughout the creative process.
