The sensitivity of being, the impossibility of forgetting

series, fabric, spray paint, 300x100 cm, 2023

In this series, the author depicts patterns from her grandparents' apartment under occupation on three curtains. The white pattern on the white curtains creates and conveys a sense of presence and absence at the same time, which for the author is comparable to the impossibility of getting ‘home’, where ‘home’ is the personified apartment of her grandparents, where the whole family gathers for holidays, a place where there is peace. Curtains are an ancient way of decorating a house, a symbol of comfort, and also an object in which you can wrap yourself and hide. Thus, with this series of works, the author continues her own search for answers to complex questions: ‘what exactly is home and what shapes it?’.

The installation was presented at the exhibitions ‘Transitus’, Hotel Continental - Art Space in Exile, Berlin, Germany, ‘Pool!it’, UK14, Kassel Museum Night, Kassel, Germany and ‘Transitus’, Hallenbad ost, Kassel, Germany
