Nova Kakhovka occupied

series, black pencil, paper, series, 15x22 cm, 2022

The author uses the example of her hometown to show life under occupation, and the example of her family to show the everyday side of this life. The project highlights two sides of life under occupation - the political one (which includes everything that can be seen in the news, local groups, the consequences of the war, the remains of shells and military equipment, the introduction of the ‘Russian’ peace, etc.), and the everyday one (which depicts people's daily lives, their new way of life, habits, rules, adjusting to new circumstances and conditions). The main idea was also to show that people never see the flip side of any event - people's lives - when watching a news feed.

The series was presented at the exhibition "Spatial Dialogues: Viktoriia Rozentsveih and Asya Harmash", Mala Gallery of the Mystetskyi Arsenal, Kyiv, “Are you okay?”, Ukrainian House, Kyiv, and the solo exhibition “Nova Kakhovochka”, Dim Gallery, Warsaw
