A few centimetres of my memories
series on plexiglas, 6 pcs, 10x15 cm, 2025
The series of four objects "A Few Centimetres of My Memories" is a microstructurally divided repetition of the large installation
"A Few Metres of My Memories". They reproduce the same image.
The transparent plastic and scratching technique adds volume, giving the impression that the images are suspended in the air, which increases the tension between the sense of reality and ephemerality. In this series, the artist also divides the landscape into parts, which for her is a symbol of the process of severing ties with a place that is no longer accessible, and at the same time a desperate attempt to preserve it. Each part functions as a ‘fragment’ - together they keep the distance between what was and what is now.
The series is also reminiscent of an archive that does not have access to its fullness, which focuses on the selectivity of memory and the feeling that the past will forever remain fragmented.
The object was presented at the exhibition "Archipelago of History", PinchukArtCentre, Kyiv, Ukraine
